After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.

Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.

Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

You don't even have to try to love this book. It's been years that's I've been along with this series, awaiting each book impatiently and graciously, and they are just as riveting every time. I'm so proud to say I am a part of the ToG fandom, and have been for years. Join us!

I read Throne of Glass a couple months ago and loved it to death. I loved how complex everything was. Celeana, Chacol, and Dorian are great, well written characters. The plot is interesting and keeps you guessing. And the romance isn't forced. It really gives the characters time to go from a friendship to a romantic relationship. Celeana goes through so much character development, and I love that in novels. I would recommend Throne of Glass for anyone who likes action packed novels, because it definitely is one.

I'm still picking up the pieces of my shattered heart after reading it... I loved it as much as I hated it and I can't really say much more without spoiling it.

I'm currently reading the 4th book in the series and it only gets better. The character development grows with each character's backstory. This series has all the best components: adventure, fantasy, relationships. 5 stars

This is just the beginning to an amazing series, written by a truly gifted author; Sarah J. Maas. I suggest this book to anyone that has a sense of adventure & loves a thrill ride. Warning: the series does have some violence, but nothing crude or trashy. This is one of my favorite series of all time, so please enjoy!!
